Thoughts About This Mystery:

I love this theme!! Camp Counselors were murdered 20 years ago and the surviving counselors return on the anniversary and The Reaper strikes again.

I kind of always wanted to go to sleep away camp when I was growing up but also didn’t want to at the same time. I was scared because of Friday the 13th. I never did end up going to camp, we didn’t have a lot of money for stuff like that but it wasn’t bad because no one in the neighborhood went to the camps either.

This was a hard one. The deadbolt website rates this a 7 out of 10, I found this harder than the rating which made me feel dumb. Maybe because I was misinterpreting the clues. I did this mystery a few months ago and then again (I forget the answers after awhile) and whenI was doing it again I made the same mistake as I did the first time. I still enjoyed the mystery and the theme and story was great.

I love the things they add to the boxes and how they are used as clues. You get a pin and a camp handbook in this box. The camp handbook is cool, it tells about the Camp Echo and the activities. It make it seem like a real campground.

There were a few puzzles on this one I just couldn’t figure out and needed to use the hints. A few coded messages to figure out. A few of the hints I couldn’t find and had to go through everything a few times and check what I was missing.

Great story to go with this mystery. I do love the stories that go with each of the cases, they seem so thought out.

I wouldn’t recommend this mystery for a first time detective, it was somewhat hard.

Check out the website for one time purchase mystery boxes, sometimes this box is available but if it isn’t they usually have a good variety of past mysteries you can buy.

*I am not affiliated with Deadbolt Mystery Society, I just love their mysteries.

    1. That is the same here, my husband doesn’t do the mysteries, mostly I do them by myself but sometimes one of my daughters will join me.

  1. Anita, how cool for those of us who love mysteries! This looks like great fun! And it takes place at a cabin, possibly at night– great opportunities for sneaky and creepy moments. Thanks so much for sharing this subscription format that I never heard of before. Wondrous.
