Deadbolt Mystery Society The Jester Review
Description (from the Deadbolt Mystery Society website):
The Jester (January 2020) – In medieval times, most kings had a court jester to entertain and amuse them. On the night of the annual Masquerade Ball, King’s Court Technologies discovers it has its own jester. While most of the partygoers are dressed in masquerade attire complete with mask and beads, one mysterious character is seen dressed in a fool’s motley and a jester’s cap with bells. However, this jester’s purpose is not to entertain but, rather, to exact revenge on the king’s behalf. Who is this jester and why have they murdered three company employees on the roof? What has really been going on at King’s Court Technologies? Unmask The Jester and find out! Difficulty Rating – 7.5/10
Thoughts About This Mystery:
The box alone made this one look like fun. I love the fancy mask with the candles. I couldn’t wait to get this mystery started.
There are a lot of suspects in this case and there are no suspects cards like most of the other games.
When I opened the box there was a crumpled piece of paper and shredded paper. I thought what the heck. I had to check to contents list and they are suppose to be like that. It was a cool thing to include.
The snakes and ladders was a neat idea and cool puzzle. There was a good mix of some hard puzzles and some easier ones.
I did this one twice. Once a few months ago and then again recently and I still needed a lot of hints. I found this one harder than some of the other mysteries. It was still a good mystery and I loved the theme. The story in all the mysteries are so good and they seem to put a lot of thought into them. Everything fits together so nice. And I love the finishing end story that wraps everything up when you put the solve solution in.
